France threatens Turkey with European sanctions over transferring terrorists from Syria to Karabakh

Yerevan, SANA- French Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne affirmed that his country discusses with its European partners the possibility of imposing sanctions on the Turkish regime because of transferring terrorists from Syria to the disputed Karabakh region over which Armenia and Azerbaijan have been fighting.

Russia Today quoted Lemoyne as saying in a press conference held Saturday in Yerevan that French President Emmanuel Macron had spoken publicly about the Turkish regime’s transfer of mercenaries to Karabakh, pointing out that Paris expects Ankara to take actual steps in order to expel the militants from the disputed region.

Lemoyne pointed out that France and the other co-chairs of the Minsk Group, namely Russia and US, have exerted relentless efforts to stop the fighting in the region, but three attempts to declare a humanitarian truce were not crowned with success.
