Two bronze medals and two appreciation certificates for Syria in European Physics Olympiad

Damascus, SANA – Syrian Science Olympiad physics team won on Sunday two bronze medals and two appreciation certificates in the European Physics Olympiad which is held remotely on July 2021, organized by the European Union for pre-university students.

 The Distinction and Creativity Agency said in a statement that two bronze medals were won by 12th grade student Omar Burhani from the al-Sa’ada School in Damascus, and 11th grade student Mohammad Subhei Abo Radan from al-Bassel School for Outstanding Students in Aleppo.

The two appreciation certificates were won by 12th grade Basher al-Refa’ey from al-Sa’da School and 11th grader Abdullah al-Hosni from 11st grade from al-Andalus School in Damascus.

This is the first participation for Syrian students in this Olympiad, alongside students from 57 countries from all over the world. The event employs a new scientific method for tests involving experiments using computer simulations.
