Health Ministry: Truck driver from Ras al-Ma’ara has recovered

Damascus, SANA-Health Ministry announced that the truck driver from Ras al-Ma’ara in Damascus countryside was discharged from Al-Zabadani Hospital after confirming his recovery with a negative test result twice successively.

The ministry said in a statement that a person who is living in in Kashkoul neighborhood was among the new infected cases. This person interacted with a positive case in Ras al-Ma’ara.

It added that the epidemiological surveillance and investigation have restricted all those who interacted with him and conducted all the needed medical tests with taking all precautionary measures.

On Saturday, the ministry announced that 6 new coronavirus cases, who were in contact to infected persons in Ras al-Ma’ara, were detected, raising the total number of infections to 170.

The Ministry has subjected Ras al-Ma’ara to a lockdown as of 7th, June after detecting 16 new cases who were in close contact with the truck driver who works on the Syrian-Jordanian route.

The total number of the registered cases in Syria reached 170 until today, 71 of them have recovered, while 6 others have passed away.
