Cabinet approves document for economic and services executive programs and procedures

Damascus, SANA – In accordance with the directives given by President Bashar al-Assad during his recent meeting with the team in charge with confronting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Cabinet approved a document for economic and services executive programs and procedures.

This document, approved during a weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis on Sunday, pertains to the functions of the ministries in terms of confronting the Coronavirus along with restoring economic and social activity.

The Cabinet also approved programs for approving economic and living conditions, controlling prices in the markets, providing essential goods, and expanding social protection services.

The Cabinet tasked all ministries with preparing several scenarios for each ministry’s work to adapt to the potential spread or recession of the Coronavirus and to local, regional, and international economic and health variables.
