Iraqi Deputy PM, Syrian Ambassador discuss political and security situation

Baghdad, SANA –Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister  Baha al-Araji discussed with the Syrian Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah the political and security situation in Syria and Iraq.

A statement issued by al-Araji’s office, which SANA got a copy of, noted that the two sides discussed means of boosting bilateral relations between the two neighbors.

For his part, Ambassador Dandah told SANA reporter that discussions during the meeting also highlighted the point that countering terrorism, which is targeting Syria and Iraq, starts with pressuring the states which are supporting and funding the terrorist organizations.

The diplomat stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries and the need for confronting sectarian instigation practiced by the takfiri terrorist organizations in order to reach a stable region.
