Syria, Jordan discuss means to enhance parliamentary, economic relations

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian-Jordanian Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee on Thursday discussed with Charge d ‘Affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus Assem al-Ababnieh means to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of the standing issues and obstacles facing the trade and economic cooperation and the transportation, in addition to the role of the parliamentarians in overcoming these obstacles.

Al-Ababnieh, for his part, affirmed his country’s keenness on the communication and cooperation with the Syrian Government and on upgrading relations between the parliamentarians in both countries and overcoming all obstacles facing the development of the economic and trade relations and others.

He indicated that the deep-rooted history of brotherly and neighborly relations between the two peoples couldn’t be changed under any pressures or circumstances.

For his part, Head of the Syrian-Jordanian Brotherhood Committee Nayef Taleb al-Hariri said that the Syrian and Jordanian parliamentarians aspire for documenting relations between the two brotherly countries which has witnessed over the past period a notable development after opening Nassib-Jaber border crossing after the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to the area.
