Moscow, SANA-The Syrian delegation participating in the ‘Russian World’ Forum which has been recently held in the Russian city of Sochi met with members of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party and the National Union of Syrian Students branch in Moscow.
The Syrian delegation to the forum was comprised of Dr. Malek Mohammad Ali, member of al-Baath Party Regional Leadership, Dr. Hazwan al-Waz, Minister of Education, and Dr. Mohammad Hassan al-Kurdi, Rector of Damascus University.
The delegation members vowed, during the meeting, to find solutions to all obstacles and hindrances that impede the educational attainment o Syrian students in Moscow.
In the same context, Dr. Ali signaled the Syrian government’s resolve to boost bilateral relations with Russia in all fields, hailing the “tangible progress” these relations have come to achieve.
“Our being here to attend the international forum dedicated to the Russian language indicates that bilateral relations between Syria and Russia are as good on the political and military levels as on the academic and cultural ones,” he added.
Dr. Ali struck a positive note proclaiming that Syria is heading to an imminent victory. “We have a feeling that we are coming very close to victory over this global terrorism by dint of the steadfastness of our people and their sacrifices.”
Speaking to SANA reporter in Moscow, Dr. Ali praised the organizational side of the forum which, he said, was “very well-organized”, indicating that the Syrian people “have much interest in developing ties with Russia.”
Minister of Education said teaching the Russian language in Syria was familiar, alongside teaching German at some schools, pointing to the cooperation with the Russian embassy in Damascus for teaching the Russian again, an experience that he hoped will be met with success.
In a similar interview with SANA reporter, Dr. al-Waz conveyed the appreciation spelled out by Russian officials for the Syrian government’s decision to institute the teaching of Russian at Syrian schools.
