Beijing, SANA – Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem on Thursday met with Chairperson of the Export-Import Bank of China (EximBank) HU Xiaolian where the two sides discussed the economic and financial situation of Syria and means of resuming and boosting cooperation between the aforementioned bank and the Syrian government in the upcoming stage in a way that contributes to providing the required funding of the Chinese companies willing to participate in the reconstruction process.
The two sides also discussed benefiting from the investment opportunities available for the states which have backed Syria in its war against terrorism, on top of which China, in the framework of the eastward orientation policy adopted by Syria, as there was an agreement on boosting communication between the two countries’ governments in the upcoming stage for achieving the very goal.
Al-Moallem also met with representatives from several companies that are willing to invest in Syria and participate in the reconstruction program and gave a presentation for them on the reconstruction process as he was briefed on their companies’ capacities and expertise in several spheres.
