Homs governor meets UNICEF resident representative in Syria

Homs, SANA-Homs governor Talal al-Barazi stressed that international organizations, particularly the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), are “of considerable help to the Syrian government ‘s relief plan.”

The governor’s remarks came during his meeting Wednesday with UNICEF resident representative in Syria Hanaa Sinjer.

He stressed the necessity of providing necessary facilitations to UNICEF to carry out its work and reach all children in Homs province.

Referring to a recent terrorist bombing that targeted a school compound in Ekrima neighborhood in Homs,  the minister said it has not “stunted the educational process in the province.”

He hailed the role of UNICEF in “easing off burdens on families and children in aftermath of the bombing.”

Sinjer, for her part, lauded the “constructive cooperation” and facilities provided by Homs governorate to make efforts pay off, especially in “flashpoints” across the governorate, condemning the terrorists blasts that claimed scores of lives, most of them children.

“Children must be a red line for all. It is our responsibility to protect them,” she added.

Sinjer said the numbers for UNICEF personnel in Homs will be increased, stressing that the organization’s work in the province is going on according to plan.
