Syrian ports closed due to prevailing weather conditions

Lattakia, SANA- General Directorate for Ports on Sunday announced that all ports on the Syrian coast were closed for navigation due to the prevailing weather conditions.

In a statement to SANA, Head of Ports General Directorate Gen. Akram Ibrahim said that all the ships and small ports have been warned off the prevailing weather conditions to take the precautionary measures in order to avoid any losses due to the storm and the current weather conditions.

Meteorology Department expected in its bulletin that the country will be affected by a polar low pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by cold and wet air mass.

The Department added that the wind will be southwesterly with active gusts as its speed will exceed 70km per hour sometimes and the sea waves will be high in amplitude.
