Damascus, SANA- Students of the Guitar Orchestra at Solhi Al-Wadi Institute performed a musical evening at al-Assad National Library theater on Thursday characterized by joy and vitality as part of the celebration of the Culture Day.
16 students from the institute led by Yazan Al-Jajeh participated in the evening making program of the evening rich and interesting.
Several musical compositions including Spanish romantic compositions and cartoon movies ones were performed.
Maestro Solhi al-Wadi was considered the founder and doyen of Syrian classical music. He had founded the Higher Institute of Music and the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra. Al-Wadi established the Arab Institute of Music in 1961 which was renamed the Solhi al-Wadi Institute of Music in 2004.
