Bogdanov: Syrian National Dialogue Congress will be held as scheduled

Moscow, SANA- The Syrian National Dialogue Congress will be held in Sochi as scheduled on January 29-30, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

Responding to a question about the possibility of postponing the Congress, Bogdanov told reporters that the Congress will be held on Jan 29-30 and that the list of invitees of the Congress is ready but the Turkish side has yet to agree on it.

He hoped that the Turkish side will agree tomorrow or the day after it on the lists in order to start sending invitations to the participants.

A Russian-Iranian-Turkish meeting will be held on January 19 and 20 to prepare for the Sochi’s Congress, he said, adding that Special Representative of Russian President for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev, Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal will attend the meeting.
