Tehran, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammoudeh Sabbagh, started an official visit to Tehran on Sunday chairing a delegation from the People’s Assembly to participate in the 13th session of Union of Councils of Member States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference.
“We are looking forwards that this conference will be an opportunity for uniting the ranks and visions of the Islamic nation, and we in Syria as we have always been are open to meeting friends and brothers to cooperate with them in all domains,” Speaker Sabbagh told SANA reporter in Tehran.
He added “We hope that the outcomes of the conference will be in the interest of the member states with regard to the critical issues facing them.”
“I would like to convey a message of amity from the Syrian people to the friendly people of Iran who have always stood by Syria, and Syria has always been by their side,” Sabbagh said.
During the visit, Shabbagh will hold talks with senior Iranian officials on enhancing relations between the two countries.
Sabbagh was received by Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud and a number of Iranian officials.
The 13th session of Union of Councils of Member States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference started activities on Saturday with the participation of a Syrian parliamentary delegation.
