New York, SANA – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari briefed a delegation of Syrian expatriates in the north US and Canada on the Syrian army’s sweeping victories and achievements across the Syrian areas, the outcomes of the 8th round of Syrian talks in Geneva and current preparation for the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi.
Meeting the delegation, which was visiting the headquarters of the Syrian Permanent Mission in New York, al-Jaafari stressed the important role of Syrian expatriates in conveying the true image of criminal acts perpetrated by terrorist groups to the American public opinion, hailing the stances of the friendly states and members of the UN Security Council in support of Syria.
For their part, members of the delegation stressed their full adherence and solidarity with their homeland and the Syrian people in the face of terrorist war waged on it, expressing gratitude to members of the Syrian diplomatic mission in New York for their efforts in defending Syria.
The delegation also visited missions of the Security Council’s member states and met ambassadors and representatives of Russia, Peru, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Bolivia, briefing them on the reality of what is taking place in Syria and the terrorist war waged on the country with the aim of undermining its position and destroying its civilization.
