412 students to participate at Final competitions of Syrian Scientific Olympiad next Saturday

Damascus, SANA-Some 412 students from all syrian provinces will participate at the final competitions of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for 2017-2018 which will be held next Saturday.

The competitions includes the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, IT, and natural sciences.

Head of the National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad Imad al-Azb said that the tests include two morning and evening rounds of three hours, adding that the questions have been prepared by central scientific committees the Syrian Scientific Olympiad.

The names of winners will be announced during a special festivity at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts and those who rank in the first three places in each subject will be crowned, al-Azb said.

He added that the top ten students of each subject will join the national teams in order to be trained for representing Syria in the international Olympiads which will be held next summer, including the mathematics Olympiad in Romania, physics in Portugal, chemistry in Czech, informatics in Japan and biology in Iran.
