Sabbagh: Syria is resilient and depends on Arab peoples’ will

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudah al-Sabbagh said Thursday that Syria will remain resilient and will be better than it was before the war waged against it that aimed at undermining its national and pan-Arab role in the region.

Sabbagh, meeting Arab Sports’ Media delegation, pointed out to the significance of the visits of foreign, regional, and Arab delegations to know more about the terrorist crimes perpetrated against the country and supported by some western, regional and Arab sides.

He added that the delegations will convey the truth to their people and public opinion in their countries, stressing that enemies of Syria have failed to undermine its sovereignty and independence due to resilience of its people, its army and its leadership in cooperation with allies and friends.

In turn, Chairman of the delegation Saleh al-Rashed said that the visit aimed at supporting and empowering Syria in the face of Western powers, Arab and regional regimes, stressing that “they will send a message to the Olympic Committee and the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) including the delegation’s views on its visit to Syria and its sports’ clubs.”

Members of the delegation hailed the Syrian Sports’ media and the Syrian sport which has kept its relationship with the world, hoping that Syria will return to the sports forums and continue its success.
