Damascus, SANA – A Christmas tree was lit at the Damascus-based Dama-Rose Hotel on Saturday evening.
Tourism Minister, Bishr Yazigi, in a press statement, said that the lighting of the tree carries all wishes that Syria, the cradle of the divine religions, would recover and continue its message in spreading peace for the whole humanity.
For his part, Greek Orthodox Patriarchal Assistant Archbishop, Luca al-Khoury, said that all victories achieved by Syria will not divert our attention from al-Quds, the land of the Christian and Islamic sanctities, which is exposed to the fieriest campaign by the US backed by some Arab regimes.
In turn, Iran’s ambassador to Syria, Javad Torkabadi, congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of Christmas and their victory over terrorism and the enemies of humanity.
