Art exhibition and stage shows for the children of Aamal in International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Damascus, SANA – The children of Aamal, the Syrian Organization for Persons with Disabilities, participated on Sunday in an event on occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities through stage shows that expressed their talents and showcased their suffering and the daily challenges they face.

The event, which was held at the organization’s center, included singing and acting shows for the children of the Auditory Inspection Center and Autism Center and theatrical show by the actors Mohammad Kheir al-Jarrah and Samer al-Jundi.

An art exhibition by Fouad Abu Assaf was also held during the event, featuring paintings and sculptures.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Aamal Ali Turkmani reviewed during the event the projects of the organization.

According to Turkmani, Aamal, in coordination with Ministry of Education, kicked off the first integration class in one of the schools in Damascus, to serve as a model and to be generalized later.

Turkmani added that the organization is working with the Ministry of Health to develop the early diagnosing of disability project.

Meanwhile, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Rima al-Qadiri told SANA’s reporter that Aamal organization is serious about helping persons the with disabilities along with training specialized staff to develop skills for dealing with the disabled.

Aamal is a non-profit local organization that was established in 2002 to improve the lives of disabled persons through building knowledge and awareness, providing treatment and rehabilitation, and integrating them actively in society.
