Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis toured on Monday Damascus International Airport to inspect the preparations for the opening of the 59th Damascus International Fair next Thursday, as well as inspecting the services provided to passengers.
The Prime Minister relieved Director of Damascus International Airport Basel Ma’adanli from his post and ordered the termination of the investment contracts of the company that offers the services at the Airport, based on complaints from passengers.
Khamis toured the Airports’ sections as he was briefed on the maintenance works there, pointing out the necessity of rehabilitating all its sections in a way that meets the needs of all passengers in general and the delegations and companies participating in the Fair in particular.
For his part, Transport Minister Ali Hammoud stressed that the 5 gates that have been closed since the beginning of the war on Syria
have been reopened and equipped to accommodate the airport’s activities during the Fair.
In the same context, Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Mohammad al-Shaar said that a number of facilitations have been provided at the airport,
particularly in the Immigration and Passports Department to facilitate the arrival of the participants in the Fair.
