Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Sunday with Iranian Ambassador to Syria Jawad Turk Abadi means to develop bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the economic sectors.
Premier Khamis expressed the Syrian government’s appreciation of the Iranian position in support of Syria under the terrorist war waged against it, adding that the major challenge is the economic war against the Syrian people, which requires the development of relations to an advanced level in all fields.
He asserted the importance of expanding joint investment projects to achieve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries, pointing out that the economic file between the two sides needs follow-up and promotion through continuous communication and open way of thinking in trade relations and activating the role of chambers of commerce and industry in both countries to play a bigger role in this domain.
For his part, Ambassador Turk Abadi said that the relations between Syria and Iran are an example of distinguished and strategic relations between countries of common destiny, adding that Iran’s support for Syria means supporting “our common cause.”
“The great victories over terrorism achieved in Syria have proven that we have the same determination, and we have great responsibilities to develop and support the economic relations between Syria and Iran and enhance communication at the social, cultural and media levels,” he noted.
