Iran : Terrorism and extremism phenomena has no border, it can threaten security of  Europe and whole world

Tehran, SANA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that terrorism and extremism phenomena has no border so it can threaten security in Europe and the whole world.

During his meeting with Romanian Deputy Foreign Minister Carmen Burlaco in Tehran on Tuesday , Zarif stressed that the phenomena of terrorism and extremism is extending in the region, particularly in Syria and Iraq.

He clarified that proposal titled ‘World Against Violence and Extremism’ (WAVE), which was posed by Iran last year at the UN General Assembly, could be the basis for cooperation and international activities to combat violence and extremism.

For her part, Burlaco touched upon the latest developments in the region, particularly in Syria, Iraq and Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of negotiation with Iran on the situation of the region.

In a relevant context, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdullahiansaid  the UN Security Council resolution  on stopping funding, supporting and arming the so-called the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) terrorist organization would be able to facilitate the UN mission in humanitarian activities in Syria and Iraq.

The remark came during his meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General and Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos in Tehran.

Abdollahian underlined the necessity of decreasing the political issues’ effects on the humanitarian activities.

For her part, Amos pointed out to her efforts in following up providing the humanitarian aid in Syria, Iraq and in Gaza, saying  ” We are trying to concentrate on Syrian people’s needs and  following up the issues without considering any political effects.”

Earlier, Amos said in a press conference following her meeting with Zarif that the extremist terrorist organizations, among them the so-called ISIS have committed many violations against human rights in the countries of the region.
