Damascus, SANA – Damascus University and the Syrian Private University (SPU) on Tuesday signed a memo of understanding for developing scientific and academic cooperation in the fields of research, training, and development.
The memo, valid for three years and renewable, stipulates for exchanging visits by faculty members and administrative staff to exchange expertise, participating in various academic activities, holding lectures and training seminars, delegating guest lectors and students, carrying out joint research projects and events, launching joint programs, exchanging publications and sharing their e-libraries, and so on.
Rector of Damascus University, Dr. Mohammad Amer al-Mardini, said the MoU should reflect positively on the higher education sector in Syria, stressing the importance of cooperating between public and private educational establishments.
In turn, Rector of the SPU Dr. Abdelrazzaq Sheikh al-Ard underlined the importance of cooperating with Syria’s first university which set the standard for higher education in the country.
