Quneitra, SANA – Fifty students from the occupied Syrian Golan, who have been studying in Damascus University, returned to their hometowns in Golan on Tuesday.
They crossed from the liberated city of Quneitra to the occupied Golan under the supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross and UN emergency forces.
Quneitra Governor, Maan Salah Eddin Ali, met with the students and hailed the great role of the students of Golan in consolidating the bonds between Syrians in the occupied Golan and the rest of the homeland, something which the Israeli occupation forces are trying to undermine.
He expressed appreciation for the steadfastness of the people of Golan and their adherence to their Syrian identity, adding that this event conveys a message to the whole world that the schemes and barbed wires of the enemy cannot separate the people of Golan from their roots and bond with their homeland.
For their part, the students expressed happiness for returning to their hometowns to spend the summer vacation with their families, expressing their resolve to continue their education and the determination of the people of Golan to confront all Israeli schemes and plots.
