Moscow, SANA – Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks on phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande about the Russian-Turkish-Iranian agreement on the ceasefire in Syria and preparations underway for the upcoming Astana talks to end the crisis in the country.
The Kremlin was quoted by Russia Today website as saying that Putin briefed Merkel and Hollande on “steps on implementing the Russian-Turkish-Iranian agreements about the ceasefire in Syria and on preparing the Astana meeti.
The Astana talks are scheduled to be held next Monday, January 23rd, with the aim of pushing forward the settlement process in Syria.
Bogdanov, Ramzi discuss Astana talks
In the same context, Special representative of President Putin, Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov discussed with the UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ramzi Ramzi Astana talks about settling the crisis in Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Bogdanov met Ramzi in Moscow as the talks dealt with the crisis in Syria, particularly Astana expected talks.
