Damascus, SANA – Grand Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun affirmed that the Syrian people remained steadfast for over 6 years in the face of terrorism and the extremist mentality, defending the stability and security of the region and the world.
During a meeting with an Australian delegation headed by Rev. David Smith, Hassoun called for conveying the true image of what is happening in Syria to the Australian people and the public opinion to face what has been promoted by malicious media outlets.
Hassoun pointed out to the negative effects of the unjust economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people by the US and Western countries.
For his part, Rev. Smith said the delegation will convey the truth about the fraternity and solidarity among Syrians, hailing the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism.
