Authorities confiscate 2,237 kilos of hashish in Homs province

Homs, SANA – Authorities in Homs confiscated on Wednesday a truck carrying more than two tons of hashish that was intended to be trafficked in al-Quseir area in the southwestern countryside of the province.

SANA reporter said that the authorities set an ambush for the truck based on accurate information while it was on its way from the Lebanese borders, adding that when the driver was ordered to stop, a man accompanying him opened fire on the patrol, and during the clashes with the patrol the criminals fled, leaving the truck behind.

2,237 kilograms of hashish was found in the vehicle, and the drugs were referred to the authorities in order to dispose of them.
