Moscow, SANA- Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko described the downing of the Russian helicopter in the countryside of Idleb on
Monday while returning to the Russian air base at Hmeimim as ” meanness and villainy crime”.
Russian TASS News Agency, quoted Matviyenko as saying in a message to the Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, that the heinous attack against the Russian helicopter which was delivering humanitarian aid to Aleppo constitutes another crime by those forces who seek for the continuation of the war in the region.
She called upon the international community to stop the bloodshed and restore peace to the region through unifying efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
On Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a Russian helicopter was shot down by terrorists in Idleb countryside after delivering humanitarian aid to Aleppo city.
