Daraa, SANA-An aid convoy of 15 trucks loaded with 4,000 food and health baskets arrived Sunday into Daraa city.
The Syrian government facilitated the access of the convoy, which is offered by the United Nations, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organization (SARC).
Daraa governor Khaled al-Hannous told SANA that the aid truckloads, whose access was facilitated by the Syrian government’s efforts, will be distributed in the towns of al-Yadouda, Tal Shihab and Zaizoun.
This is not the first time the government, aided by relief organizations and civil society, manages to deliver aid to the areas rocked by turbulent events, said the governor.
Since early 2014, 190, 000 food baskets, 83,000 health baskets and 68, 000 bags of flour have been distributed, according to the statistics of the governor who vowed that this will be replicated in all governorates.
Dr. Ahmad al-Masalma, SARC Chairman in Daraa, said as a next step, all areas that have seen bad security situations in the province will be covered by aid distribution.
