Four more breaches of cessation of hostilities observed in the last 24 hours

Lattakia, SANA – The Russian Coordination Center observed four breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by terrorist groups during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of violations to 745 since the agreement came into effect on 27th February 2016.

Based in Hmeimim airbase, the Center said in a statement on Sunday night that the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” breached the agreement when its terrorists shelled positions of the Syrian Army near Harasta, Erbin, Douma and Housh al-Fara areas in Damascus Countryside.

The center added that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists targeted with mortar shells a number of residential areas in Aleppo province, including the towns of Handarat and al-Hader and the neighborhoods of al-Zahraa, al-Sheikh Maqsoud, al-Khalidiyeh in the city, in addition to targeting the towns of al-Bilaliyeh, Zamalka , Hateitet al-Jarash, and al-Bahariyeh in Damascus countryside and Rasha town in Lattakia province.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council resolution 2268.
