Syria and Armenia discuss prospects of joint investments and trade exchange

Damascus, SANA – Director General designate of the Syrian Investment Agency (SIA) Inas al-Umawi discussed on Monday with Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian the prospects of joint investments and trade exchange between Syria and Armenia.
Al-Umawi hoped to increase the level of joint investments between the two countries, pointing out that establishing Armenian investment projects in Syria will contribute to advancing production and support national economy.

She affirmed the Agency’s readiness to provide the Armenian side with accurate information about investment opportunities and the investment environment in Syria.

In turn, Poladian affirmed that there is a possibility to develop economic and investment relations between the two countries, noting that there are considerable and diverse joint investment fields such as food industries, metalwork, technology, agriculture, and reconstruction.

On another note, the Armenian Ambassador revealed that he recently received a letter from the Armenian Culture Minister about the possibility of the participation of Armenian archaeologists in the restoration of antiquities in Palmyra which had vandalized and damaged by terrorist organizations.
