Tehran, SANA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran will continue to support the countries that are fighting terrorism.
He was speaking to reporters in a joint press conference with European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who is on a visit to Iran heading an EU delegation.
Iran stands on the first line against terrorism alongside the countries threatened by this danger, mainly Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, said Zarif, adding that his country will support any country faced with this threat.
He criticized the countries which try to distance themselves from fighting terrorism and overlook its danger, saying those countries are taking the wrong option since terrorism knows no borders and has become a world crisis that must be combated
internationally.
For her part, Mogherini said the EU supports the intra-Syrian dialogue taking place in Geneva, noting that Iran and the EU can play an influential role on the course of the dialogue.
