Aleppo, SANA – One civilian was killed and four others were injured in terrorist rocket and mortar attacks on residential neighborhoods in Aleppo city on Sunday.
Local sources told SANA’s correspondent that terrorists fired rocket and mortar shells at al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city, killing one civilian and injuring three others, in addition to causing considerable material damage to houses in the area.
Terrorist organizations have repeatedly targeted al-Sheikh Maqsoud and other neighborhoods in Aleppo with mortar and rocket shells, continuously breaching the cessation of hostilities agreement in the country. These attacks have left dozens of civilians dead or injured and caused material damage to the infrastructure and private properties.
Later in the day, a source at the Aleppo Police Command said 13 rocket and mortar shells fired by terrorists fell in residential neighborhoods in the city, with 3 rocket shells falling around the Municipal Palace, while another fell on Aleppo Private School in Iskenderun St. in al-Jamiliye area, injuring one child and damaging the school and nearby houses.
The source added that another rocket shell fell near al-Rahman Mosque in al-Sabeel neighborhood, two shells fell in each of al-Midan, Franciscan, and al-Muhafaza neighborhoods, while two more shells fell in the surroundings of the Rahmo al-Hattab and Ahmad Saeed schools in Saif al-Dawla neighborhood. These attacks caused damage to public and private properties.
Until Saturday, 372 breaches by the terrorist organizations were observed by the Russian coordination center at Hmeimim base since the agreement came into effect on February 27th.
