Syria and South Africa discuss prospects of cooperation in water resources sector

Damascus, SANA-Water Resources Minister Kamal al-Sheikha discussed on Monday with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of drinking water and sanitation.

The Minister affirmed the importance of cooperation and taking advantage the two countries’ experiences, expressing the Ministry’s readiness to draft a MoU between Syria and South Africa, especially since Syria will start the reconstruction stage soon.

For his part, Byneveldt said that the meeting aims at enhancing cooperation and providing the necessary resources for that, mainly in drinking water and sanitation sector, adding that he is glad that Syria is persevering and remains open to business and investments despite difficult circumstances.
