Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly discussed on Tuesday the measures taken by the Ministry of Industry to rehabilitate companies and factories damaged due to the terrorist acts.
Minister Kamal Eddin Tu’meh said 20 partially damaged companies have already been rehabilitated after they were out of service since 2013, adding that some of those companies have already started making gains.
He estimated the public industrial sector’s losses due to the ongoing crisis in the country at SYP 500 billion, adding that the same number stands for the losses of the private industrial sector.
Tu’meh noted that the Ministry has set up an industrial map aimed at achieving balanced development in all the provinces.
He referred to a number of companies and factories that are still operating and producing, explaining however that a number of other facilities are being operated by new sides and partners to keep the work going on.
