UN Secretary-General: Cessation of hostilities in Syria is largely holding till now

Geneva, SANA -United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced on Monday that the cessation of hostilities in Syria was largely holding, despite some isolated incidents that took place.

“By and large the cessation of hostilities is holding, even though we have experienced some incidents,” Ban told reporters in Geneva after talks with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, adding that the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) is working to make sure the cessation of hostilities can continue.”

On Saturday February 27th, The UN Security Council unanimously adopted resolution no. 2268 on cessation of hostiles in Syria in implementation of a US-Russian agreement.
