Half-million people in Gaza face catastrophic hunger levels, UN says

New York, SANA- The World Food Program (WFP) warned that half a million people in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic levels of hunger in light of the ongoing displacement during the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

The Palestinian families in Gaza often do not receive full food rations on an ongoing basis, adding that the unreliable access to humanitarian aid and limited stocks prevent families in Gaza from obtaining the food rations they need, RT website quoted the UN as saying in a post on the “x” platform.

In a related context, Senior Communications Officer, UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Louise Wateridge said in an interview with the Canadian network CBC News: Families in the Gaza Strip are exhausted and hungry and do not have what they need to survive under forced displacement, difficult conditions and extreme heat.

Last June, the WFP provided aid to one million people, stressing that this was not enough and concluding its post by renewing the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
