Tourism Minister meets delegation from Syrian community in Italy

Damascus, SANA-Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi affirmed that Syria will reopen its doors to visitors from the entire world, adding that the will of Syrians will triumph over terrorism which is targeting its history, culture and civilization.

During a meeting with a delegation of the Syrian community in Italy, SOLID organization and the European Solidarity Front for Syria, Yazigi said that the Syrian community in Italy has shown an extraordinary interest in following up the file of preserving the Syrian heritage which is targeted by the armed terrorist organizations in a systematic way through destruction and looting, adding that the Syrians in Italy have called for protecting the Syrian heritage and exerted pressure on the countries that are supporting and funding terrorism to cease their support.

The minister briefed the delegation on the damage that affected the tourism sector in Syria due to the terrorist war waged on it which caused the destruction of number of the archeological sites in Syria.

For his part, Dr. Jamal Abu Abbas, chairman of Syrian community in Italy said that a shipment consisting of relief substances, medical equipment and medicines will arrive to Syria on the 5th of February in the framework of the support provided for the Syrians in their fight against terrorism. The shipment, he said, is presented by the Syrian community in Italy and number of Italian organizations.

During the meeting, the promotion and marketing director in the ministry Bassam ParseK presented a documentary review about the crimes of terrorist organizations against the archaeological sites and tourist facilities in a number of areas in Syria.

The delegation includes a number of engineers, doctors, businessmen and students in addition to the number of Italian citizens.
