Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Sunday with the Iranian delegation that is currently visiting Syria means to develop bilateral media relations to be in line with the level of the strategic political and economic ties binding the two countries.
The meeting discussed the establishment of mechanisms for media cooperation, including training courses for cadres, exchange of visits on a continuous basis and the production of joint media materials to better promote the common culture between the two countries.
Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Abdulali Ali-Asgari, who is chairing the delegation, highlighted the fruitful results of the meetings the delegation has held with Syrian officials on developing cooperation relations in the media sector, noting that there has been constructive cooperation with the Syrian media institutions.
In a press statement following the meeting, Information Minister Mohammad Ramez Tourjman affirmed the importance of expanding media relations between Syria and Iran and consolidating cultural relations to contribute to fortifying future generations in the region as well as defending the Palestinian cause and confronting the American-Zionist project aimed at fragmenting the region and distorting its cultural heritage.
Earlier, Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi met the Iranian delegation, and both sides agreed on exchanging promotional materials and media expertise.
Ali-Asgari expressed optimism about the resumption of Iranian tourist trips to Syria, especially in the framework of religious tourism.
