A delegation from 30 media outlets visits Aleppo University

Aleppo, SANA – Representatives from 30 local, Arab and foreign media outlets visited on Thursday Aleppo University and inspected the progress of the educational process and scientific research at its colleges and institutes.

The reporters met Secretary of Aleppo University Branch of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Mohammad Nayef al-Salti, who spoke of the university cadres and students’ steadfastness in the face of the repeated terrorist attacks targeting the facility.

Mortars and rockets fired by “spiteful” terrorists have repeatedly slammed into the university’s buildings, damaging parts of them and causing casualties among students.

“Nevertheless, the students and teachers stood their ground,” said al-Salti, noting that the University’s dormitory has also provided “a safe haven” for innocent civilians displaced from their home areas by the terrorist organizations.

For his part, Rector of Aleppo University Mustafa Afyouni briefed the reporters on the history of the university, which is one of the deep-rooted universities in Syria and the region in general, affirming that the acts of the terrorist organizations have not affected the educational process, which has rather continued and progressed against all odds.

The media delegation, which includes 50 reporters from 30 Syrian, Arab, Turkish and Iranian media outlets, earlier visited Kuwaires Military Airport and a number of villages to which the army restored security in the eastern and southern countryside of Aleppo.
