Damascus, SANA – Committees of national Reconciliation and Arab & Foreign Affairs at the People’s Assembly on Tuesday discussed with a Russian delegation bilateral relations and means of bolstering them in all fields.
During a meeting in the People’s Assembly in Damascus, the MPs highlighted the importance of the Russian role in supporting Syria against the fierce terrorist attack on the country.
Head of the National Reconciliation Committee Omar Aousi said the visit of the Russian delegation aims at strengthening bilateral relations, adding that Moscow has always been a genuine supporter to Syria in the face of the terrorist war waged against it.
For her part, Head of the Arab and Foreign Affairs Committee Fadia Deeb said that cooperation is of a vital importance, especially in countering the media war that aims at fabricating events and distorting the reality of the events in Syria.
In turn, Member of Russian Federation Council’s Defense and Security Committee Dmitry Sablin said that Russia will continue support to Syria at international forums.
Alexander Yushchenko of the Russian Duma asked the MPs to set a report on the reality of the events in Syria to be used by the Russian parliamentary figures and media outlets.
