Austria Counterterrorism Office: Over 100 Austrians recruited to fight in Syria

Vienna, SANA – Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counterterrorism in Austria issued a new report divulging that more than 100 Austrian terrorists of Bosnian, Chechen and Turkish origins have been recruited and sent to Turkey to fight alongside the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

The report warns of the danger of those terrorists’ return back to Austria with instilled takfiri ideas and fighting skills.

It also pointed out to Austrian Interior Ministry reports indicting that rural areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina are receiving facilitations for training and recruiting young men so as to send to fight in Syria.

Spokesman of the Office said that monitoring sleeper terrorist cells is of great importance in Austria and EU states, referring to the need for monitoring borders and setting up joint European plans for restricting those cells danger on the European society.
