Cuba blames terrorism supporters for Syrian people’s suffering

New York, SANA – Cuba blamed the countries backing the terrorists for the continued suffering of the Syrians, warning against any foreign intervention in Syria.

In his speech at the UN Security Council session on “The situation in the Middle East” on Tuesday, Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN Oscar Leon Gonzalez renewed call for a political solution to the crisis in Syria, asserting the right of the Syrian people to self-determination far from foreign interference.

He held the countries which sponsor and support the extremists fighting in Syria responsible for the prolonged suffering of the Syrian people and the thousands of victims who are falling in Syria.

The Cuban ambassador warned against international powers using the excuse of terrorism to justify foreign intervention in Syria, calling on the UN to support the efforts exerted by some countries, like Russia, to stop the hostile acts in Syria and find an exit from the crisis there.
