Homs residents on revolution anniversary: The Syrian people are one

Homs, SANA-One, one, one… The Syrian people are one. This is a slogan that Syrians have been chanting for 14 years since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution, demanding freedom and dignity.

Today, from New Clock Square, which the people of Homs have renamed Tahrir Square, history is repeating itself with the same slogan, but after the revolution’s victory.

SANA’s camera surveyed the opinions of the residents who flocked by the thousands this evening to New Clock Square to commemorate the anniversary of the launch of the Syrian people’s revolution against the most brutal regime in modern times.

They raised the flags of the revolution and chanted patriotic slogans, affirming their commitment to Syria’s unity and sovereignty over all Syrian territory.

“The revolution has triumphed, and the dream has become a reality,” says Abu Muhammad, whose two sons were killed by the former regime and whose home in the Khalidiya neighborhood was destroyed.

Abu Khaled, from the Jouret al-Shayyah neighborhood, says, “This revolution will go down in history and will remain in the memories of our children for decades to come.” He points to the humiliation and oppression many Syrians have suffered in foreign lands over the past years, but this revolution has proven that truth will triumph over falsehood, no matter how long it takes.

For his part, Mohammed al-Ali noted that the Syrian people’s revolution will remain a source of inspiration for all freedom seekers around the world.

Abu Salem, who spent nine years in Idleb after losing his wife and two of his children in a regime airstrike on the Deir Baalbeh neighborhood, pointed out that today we celebrate the victory of the revolution, and that we all have a duty to work and build, each according to his ability, to advance our country.

He called on all displaced persons to hasten their return to participate in the country’s reconstruction.
