General Ibrahim visits combat formations operating in Syrian Desert

Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, paid a field visit to combat formations operating in the Syrian Badiya (Desert), on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

During the visit General Ibrahim met with field commanders in Palmyra, and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s congratulations on the Eid.

General Ibrahim also toured a number of advanced positions in the Syrian desert, met the fighters there and reviewed their field and living conditions, with the general urging them to make every possible effort to remain constantly prepared to counter any attack and confront any infiltration attempt by armed terrorist organizations.

The fighters, in turn, asserted that they will remain faithful soldiers making every effort to defend Syria’s dignity.

General Ibrahim also visited one of military airports and met with the pilots and technical crews there, with the staff stressing their high and constant readiness to carry out all the tasks assigned to them at all times and circumstances.

At the end of his tour, the Chief of General Staff visited the wounded in Homs Military Hospital.
