Damascus, SANA -The body of late Syrian renowned actor Omar Hajjo, who passed away today morning, was escorted to his final resting place from al-Razi Hospital into Bab al-Sagher cemetery in Damascus.
A large number of Hajjo’s relatives, his comrades of actors and journalists joined the ceremony.
The late actor passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 84 after suffering heart attack in the house of his son, director al-Laith Hajjo.
The great actor suffered health complications last year and was transported to al-Bassel Hospital in Tartous, and this was followed by several other complications that forced him to stay in hospitals for a long time and kept him out of acting.
The late actor Hajjo was born in Aleppo in 1931. He was one of the pioneers among Syrian actors and one of the founders of the artist syndicate in Syria, in addition to participating in founding the National Theatre and Syrian Television in 1960’s.
He took part in many television series as well as many plays, including some of the most prominent plays with the prestigious actor Duraid Lahham.
