Dr. Shaaban to Yakovenko: Our Agreeing upon political and media concepts breaches the terms and narratives of Western hegemony

Damascus, SANA- Special Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban met on Monday Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexander Yakovenko and the accompanying delegation at headquarters of Watan Document Foundation

During the meeting, Yakovenko clarified the significant steps taken by Russia, China, Brazil and the BRICS countries collectively to align the new economy with the decline of dependence on the Western economy, and to try to build an economic system that gradually abandons the dollar and proposes methods and currencies that are agreed upon as alternatives.

This may take some time, but the path has begun. There is no doubt that the sanctions imposed by the West on several countries in the world without any right, and the freezing of funds deposited with them, have motivated many countries to find safer and more stable alternatives for their economies and the global market as well, he said.

Yakovenko referred to the difficult economic situation in Europe, wondering whether European countries are on this path or will they work to put their economic interests first and challenge The US hegemony, pointing to the importance of Chinese-Russian and Chinese-Brazilian cooperation in creating a new economic reality that accelerates global initiatives in its favor.

What is happening in the Arab world is very important, and that the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement and the imminent end of the war in Yemen will undoubtedly contribute to creating a new regional reality in which the countries of the region play a vital role, he went on to say.

For her part, Dr. Shaaban said “These important economic changes also need intellectual dialogue and agreement on media political concepts, and the ways that must be taken to achieve a firm and principled violation of the tools of Western hegemony and the culture and ethics of neo-liberalism.

She explained that the West has succeeded in imposing hegemony on the world by focusing on alliances, noting that countries seeking to establish a new world order must attach great importance to alliances between them, and to dialogue and agreement on concepts, terminology and steps that contribute with economic transformations to achieving this important goal for humanity and for human justice, and for future generations and the equal dignity of states and peoples.

In addition, both sides noted the importance of cooperation between Russia and Syria in these areas, documenting this important stage, and exchanging political and media opinions and ideas in a way that enhances this approach and attracts parties that need help in defining their directions, through the initiative to publish our terms that express the new reality and show the misleading Western media and its separation from the reality of events.
