Lattakia, SANA- The Iranian Cultural Center in cooperation with the Cultural Directorate in Lattakia held a commemorative event on the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani.
The ceremony included patriotic songs for Syria and the resistance, as well as screening a short film which documented an important aspect of Soleimani’s biography; his resistance to occupation and fight against terrorism.
Governer of Lattakia, Amer Helal, while delivering a speech, pointed out that Syria was subjected to internationally-backed terrorist war; nevertheless, with the sacrifices of its people and the support of friendly countries it was able to thwart all schemes targeting it.
Iranian Ambassador to Syria, Mehdi Subhani, affirmed for his part that this event attempts not only to commemorate a person but also to revive the resistance ideology.
