Occupied Jerusalem, SANA- the Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomed the international consensus on the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state and ending the Israeli occupation, stressing that it is insufficient unless it is accompanied by practical steps to implement the international legitimacy resolutions.
“This consensus, which was evident in the statements and stances of heads of state and was confirmed by more than one UN official in the UN General Assembly meeting at its 77th session, is in line with international legitimacy, its resolutions and international law, which expressly stipulates guaranteeing national just rights and legitimate for the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right of return, the right to self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 line, with Jerusalem as its capital” Wafa news agency quoted Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on Thursday.
The Ministry stressed that this unanimously decision is insufficient unless it is accompanied by practical measures that lead to ensuring the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions on the ground by forcing the occupation authorities to stop settlements and all their violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, and the need to support the recognition of the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations.
