Damascus, SANA – Temperature continue to drop to become lower than the average from 4 to 6 degrees for the same time of the year as the country is being affected with a low pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied with a cold and wet air.
The Meteorology Department expected, in its Thursday bulletin, that the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy rainy. Snow is also expected over the mountains whose height exceed 900 meters.
The Department added that the wind will be southwestern with a light and moderate speed and the height of waves will be moderate to high.
On Friday, no change on the weather conditions prevailing in the country, while on Saturday the weather will be partly cloudy in general, rain is expected over many areas and temperature will rise, yet it will remain lower than average from 3 to 5 degrees.
Ministry of Agriculture said, in its rain bulletin, that rain fell over most areas of the country, while the highest amount of rain reached 85 mm in al-Bahloliyeh in Lattakia, 53 mm in Shatha in Hama, 50 mm in Banias in Tartous, 40 mm in Serghaya in Damascus countryside.
Snow depth reached 30 cm in Heineh in Damascus countryside and 15 cm in Quneitra.
