Syrian-made garments exhibition in Baghdad attracts high turnout

Baghdad, SANA – Syria Mod Baghdad Exhibition for the ready-made garments opened in the Iraqi capital Baghdad amid a remarkable Iraqi trade and popular turnout.

The exhibition was divided into tens of sections showcasing exhibits for 110 Syrian companies and 162 Syrian industrialists.

The Syrian clothes, including those for women, men and kids, seem to attract increasing numbers of Iraqi tradesmen and other visitors, with those hailing the products’ further improved quality and affordable prices, that proved far less than Iraqi-made clothes or those imported from other countries.

The Syrian Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah viewed the opening of the exhibition as an important step on the way towards further cementing the relations between Syria and Iraq, noting that the Syrian products have become the number one products on demand in the Iraqi market.

For his part, Mohammad al-Sawwah, Head of the Syrian Exporters Federation, a co-organizer of the exhibition along with the Syrian Exporters Association for clothes and textile and Damascus Chamber of Industry, pointed out that 80% of the total Syrian-made apparel products are exported to the Iraqi market.
